Social Investment Program for Renewable Energy Projects
 
We are looking for investors for small scale projects that will result in new renewable energy capacity and thus reduce carbon emissions. The projects will be located all around the world wherever solar and wind conditions are favorable but special consideration will be given to projects that bring electricity to areas currently without an electricity supply.

Several regional funds are envisaged, denominated in either dollars or euros or the most appropriate currency for that region. Each fund will operate on a 'not for profit' basis with revenue generated from projects being reinvested to expand the project base. This should result in reasonable increases in the capital value of the shares over time. You won't become rich by investing in these funds but you would hopefully see a return comparable to a deposit account. This is a fund for people on a modest budget who wish to see more resources directed towards investment in the future of the planet but are reluctant to simply give money to environmental groups.

We have absolutely no idea how popular or unpopular this idea will prove to be so all we can do for now is gather emails from people to see if there is sufficient support in principle. As soon as we see sufficient interest in this fund we will officially open the fund to investors.
